about
Sarah Elizabeth Beaumont BA(hons) FRSA
Fine Artist, Writer, Illustrator
Born and educated in London, Sarah is a Fine Art and Music graduate.
As in the Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, contrasts and scale have played key parts in Sarah's life.
As a fine artist, Sarah paints large-scale works in oil on canvas, but also executes detailed pen-and-ink illustrations for books and magazines. Her smallest work to date is a series of designs for first day cover philatelic releases in conjunction with the British Post Office.
Her paintings have been widely commissioned and extensively exhibited, including at The Royal Academy of Arts, and are held in collections in the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, the USA, and Australia.
She has received a number of art prizes including the Artist's and Illustrator's Prize, the Aya Broughton Award, and the Worshipful Company of Playing Card Makers Prize.
Sarah has a lifelong passion for 'Alice in Wonderland'. Her travels around the world have allowed her to amass a collection of more than 50 versions of the book, in many languages and varied illustrative styles.
'Alice's London Adventures in Wonderland', which she has written and illustrated, is a modern day parody of Lewis Carroll's well-loved classic set in London and published by Two Monkeys Publishing on 1 October 2015.
