Works during lockdown - Covid Collages
In March 2020 everything stopped, but there wasn't silence.
Stilled images of life were overwhelmed by shout-loud alarmist headlines across all media, bringing anxiety and fear.
Locked down, with limited art materials, Sarah turned to newspaper as her medium, creating historic images of a silent city, which would yellow and fade over time.
The drama in Sarah Beaumont's collages comes from the ever-present tension between fear and hope. Hope wins, through the belief that, despite the gravest of threats, life in London will prevail.
